Who We Are Looking For
Joffe Emergency Services is looking to hire Campus Security Officer in the Palo Alto area. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving the company's posture with client representatives, ensuring the highest quality of customer service is provided throughout all of the delivery systems within Security Division.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service and when available, provide additional assistance if permitted and only if directed by Campus Security Director to students, faculty/ staff, parents/ guardians, and visitors
- Enforce campus policies and procedures relating to safety and security concerns; ie: ensure only authorized persons are admitted to the campus.
- Act as first responder to all campus emergencies, medical and criminal, that could potentially be hazardous and/or life threatening.
- Make regular inspection tours to ensure the safety and security of campus facilities and grounds.
- Watch for trespassers, graffiti and vandalism, fire, water leaks, or other circumstances which could lead to loss or damage to property and equipment.
- Observe and report hazardous conditions to management.
- Could be responsible for securing the building by unlocking and locking doors for events; as well as securing the campus following protocols.
- Ensure inside and outside lights are turned on/off as required and inform the supervisor when any electrical or mechanical system is malfunctioning.
- Monitor parking lots and direct traffic and parking as necessary. This includes enforcing campus traffic regulations including parking, and speeding.
- Enforce campus policies including smoking, alcohol usage, and drug usage.
- Observe weather conditions on campus and report dangerous or unusual weather-related activity to management.
- Assist in investigations of violations on school campus by viewing and analyzing camera footage, talking with witnesses, and writing incident reports.
- Act as a liaison for the school campus with local law enforcement.
- Provide awareness education/information on an informal basis to students and employees.
- Be a strong team player
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Minimum of 2 years security experience (preferred but not required)
- Customer Service experience preferred
- First Aid and CPR certification (will train if not certified)
- Valid Guard Card
- Be willing to work occasional weekends throughout the year
- Be comfortable working in fluctuating work settings. (Sitting, standing, outdoors and/or be exposed to inclement weather conditions)
