Campus Safety Coordinator
The Campus Safety Coordinator works in conjunction with the Director of Physical Plant to manage the security programs and safety procedures at school. The coordinator will oversee all security activities and develop and implement plans to respond to issues or threats and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinates a comprehensive security/school safety program, policies, and procedures by studying organization operations and schedules; establishing internal controls; conducting inspection as appropriate; reporting potential hazards to appropriate departments; creating and updating Standard Operating Procedures, safety, and security manuals.
- Coordinate school safety compliance with federal, state, and local regulations by studying existing and new requirements and overseeing and enforcing school-wide adherence to requirements.
- Conducts and coordinates safety, security, and emergency preparedness training by developing, scheduling and/or facilitating training for staff, students and public safety officials relating to school safety, security, and emergency preparedness.
- Serves as a liaison with local enforcement agencies. Working directly with local law enforcement agencies during critical incident situations and follow-up.
- Assists in the development and implementation of security plans for special events.
- Works with maintenance and facilities departments to address and correct safety/security issues on campus.
General Responsibilities
- Prepares memos, reports, etc. related to safety issues on school campus.
- Participates in annual training to stay current on laws, policies, and procedures regarding school safety.
- Assist maintenance department with non-security related task required by the Director of Physical Plant.
Qualifications and Expectations
- Required to live in School-owned housing in Bryn Mawr, PA. The school requires the employee to live in this property on a full-time basis for its convenience, so that the employee can properly perform employee's duties and fulfill the responsibilities inherent in the employee's positions.
- Communicate comfortably with the full range of school staff.
- In case od emergencies, inclement weather, or disaster employee with be required to be at work and work additional hours if necessary.
- Required to hold an ACT235 license and pass an ACT67 certification.
