Role: Campus Campaign Organizer 

Location and Timeline: We are hiring organizers for this position beginning Mid January 2024 and continuing through Nov 5 2024 . This position will be based in Las Vegas, NV, on or near the university. 

Who We Are: The Outreach Team (TOT) is a political consulting firm specializing in field organizing. We partner with good groups doing great things. Our goal is to consistently raise the overall level of organizing/canvass work across platforms by thinking holistically about our clients, the campaign we are trying to win, and the staff who work on the campaign. 

General Overview:

The Campus Campaign Organizers will engage and generate actions from students and members of the campus community around climate change and civic engagement The organizer will plan and execute public education activities around the benefits of the climate provisions via earned media and social media. Organizers will engage with Members of Congress (MOC)s to thank them for acting on climate and urging them to keep fighting. Organizers will also run non partisan voter registration and Get Out The Vote campaigns on campus.

What You’ll Do:

• Recruit and Train a Community of Volunteer Activists
  • Call and text supporters and recruit them into grassroots actions. 
  • Identify new volunteers by gathering petitions
  • Run grassroots skills trainings to develop effective campaigners among volunteers
  • Keep meticulous track of a volunteer list so that no potential volunteer falls through the cracks
  • Represent the campaign through participation in community spaces and events, while engaging and uplifting coalition and partner organizations.
• Generate Direct Touches to Member of Congress (MOC) Offices
  • Gather thousands of petition signatures on campus
  • Organize phonebanking events to generate hundreds of calls into MOC offices
  • Recruit and train volunteers to generate more petition signatures, calls and emails
  • Recruit and engage with faculty and professors on campus to contact and engage the MOC office
• Run a voter registration and Get Out The Vote drive
  • Train a team of 20-30 student volunteers to clipboard and collect voter registrations.
  • Engage with the campus administration to ensure that voter registration are successful
  • Collect pledges to vote
  • Stand at polling locations and engage in Vote Tripling best practices
• Manage Digital Campaign, Data Management, and Reporting Tools
  • Demonstrate public support by recruiting volunteers to post on their own social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
  • Use peer-to-peer texting services and relational organizing tools to communicate with community members
  • Send timely and compelling email campaigns to recruit activists to campaign activities
  • Track every interaction with detailed notes in order to report numbers daily and write weekly reports on the results of the campaign

Nice-to-Haves, but Not Required:

• Experience working for nonprofits, electoral campaigns, and/or other issue campaigns
• Data Management and Evaluation Experience: Experience working with various data management systems and tools, mainly Google Suite. 
• Experience with Relevant Campaign Tools and Technologies: Action Network, ThruText, MailChimp, eCRMs like EveryAction, or social media tools (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram).
• Event or Project Planning & Management, Implementation or Evaluation
• Knowledge or previous experience working on this issue is a plus, but not required

If you were here right now, you would be:

• Recruiting, training and developing activist leaders on your campus to expand and fight for historic climate investments 
• Meeting with professors, student leaders, and campus administrators to set up for a successful voter registration drive.
• Planning and executing events around climate action, but not limited to: phonebanking, petitioning, visibility events, educational events, and more. 

Salary, Benefits and Perks:

The salary for this position is $50,000-59,000. Salary within this range is determined through an equity calculator. As part of TOT’s commitment to compensation equity and transparency, we have a no negotiation policy. Salary negotiations can introduce bias and perpetuate wage inequality. At the end of the campaign, there may be opportunities for advancement. We offer a generous benefits package, including:
