Job Purpose
- Provide group supervision of campers
- Enhance the camp experience while demonstrating leadership skills and attention to detail for the campers’ health, happiness, discipline, cleanliness, safety, character and skill development
- Enhance each camper’s experience while taking responsibility for their health and well-being
- Provide a fun, learning experience for all campers.
- Model responsible behavior for all campers and fellow counselors.
- Communicate safety and health guidelines to campers and ensure that they understand them
- Initiate the emergency response protocol when necessary and perform basic first aid if needed.
- Cooperate and work as a team player, promoting a positive environment
- Provide leadership and support to fellow counselors
- Provide a fun and safe environment and promptly communicate any concerns
- Take daily attendance and carefully monitor and account for children in your charge throughout the day
- Organize and lead activities, promoting camper participation in all activities
- Safely escort the campers from station to station
- Conduct lunch management duties and promote good manners
- Monitor swimming activities as required
- Complete the daily routine duties
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Work closely with camp directors and other camp staff to resolve difficulties with programs, campers or Club
- Attend weekly meetings after camp to discuss any issues and brainstorm new ideas for the following week
- Attend department applicable training sessions
- Be knowledgeable of other club departments, programs and events, demonstrating a commitment to embracing the neighborhood
- Communicate with parents, members and club staff, ensuring that everyone is certain that we care about their well-being
- Ongoing Club Fit Trainings in 1huddle.
- Professional Certification
- CPR AED a plus but not required
- Experience working with children in a sports clinic or academic capacity a plus
- Demonstrate accountability, responsibility and attention to detail for work
- Have a positive attitude toward Club Fit and fellow staff at all times
- Be punctual for all scheduled shifts or arrange for coverage and inform manager and other staff members accordingly
- Wear uniform, including club-issued shirt and name tag
- Acknowledge members and provide timely and efficient service with a smile, always providing genuine hospitality
- Remain polite and courteous
- Maintain a positive and caring relationship with members, colleagues, managers, and other Club Fit staff
Ability to:
Stand and walk around for extended periods of time
Lift 10 lbs
Understand and communicate both verbally and written in English
Follow job related directions
Work a flexible schedule as required by business needs
Understand and comply with all company safety policies and their requirements
