The Los Angeles Aviators, a professional Ultimate Frisbee team, are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Camera Operator to film home games during the season. As a vital member of our media team, you will capture dynamic footage of the games to be used for analysis, promotion, and broadcasting purposes.
Responsibilities:
1. Operate video cameras to capture high-quality footage of Los Angeles Aviators home games.
2. Follow game action closely to anticipate key plays, highlights, and moments of excitement.
3. Ensure camera equipment is set up and functioning correctly before each game.
4. Collaborate with the media team to determine optimal camera angles and shots to capture the essence of the game.
5. Adhere to the team's style and branding guidelines when filming to maintain consistency in visual content.
6. Work closely with the production team to transfer footage and ensure its availability for editing and distribution.
7. Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor while interacting with players, coaches, and staff during games.
8. Uphold safety protocols and guidelines while operating camera equipment in a fast-paced sports environment.
9. Stay updated on industry trends and techniques to continually enhance filming skills and contribute innovative ideas to the media team.
Requirements:
1. Previous experience operating video cameras, preferably in a sports or live event environment.
2. Knowledge of Ultimate Frisbee rules and gameplay is preferred but not required.
3. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate game schedules.
4. Strong attention to detail and the ability to capture critical moments during fast-paced sporting events.
5. Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with the media team and other staff members.
6. Proficiency in handling and troubleshooting camera equipment and accessories.
7. Physical stamina and agility to maneuver camera equipment and maintain focus throughout the duration of games.
8. Demonstrated passion for sports and a desire to contribute to the growth and success of the Los Angeles Aviators organization.
