Job Title:Calibration Technician- Reports to Test Engineering Manager
Location: Williamsport, PA (works on-site)
What a Day Looks Like:

  • Equipment Calibration: Perform precise calibrations on a wide range of measuring and testing instruments, such as gauges, meters, and sensors, to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed calibration records, documenting calibration procedures, results, and equipment history. Ensure compliance with quality control and regulatory requirements.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions or discrepancies during the calibration process. Diagnose and repair minor issues or escalate for further repair if necessary.
  • Calibration Procedures: Develop and update calibration procedures and work instructions to meet changing industry standards or equipment specifications.
  • Compliance: Stay current with industry regulations, standards, and best practices to ensure equipment calibration meets legal and quality requirements.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance on calibration equipment to ensure its accuracy and reliability.
  • Communication: Collaborate with colleagues, engineers, and quality assurance personnel to communicate calibration results, deviations, and equipment performance.
  • Testing and Validation: Conduct tests and validation procedures to verify the accuracy and precision of calibrated equipment.
  • Training: Provide training and guidance to less experienced technicians or personnel on calibration techniques and procedures.
  • Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace to minimize risks associated with calibration procedures.

Requirements
To Excel in this role, you'll need:
  • An Associate Degree in Electronics or Engineering is preferred; however, a high school diploma or GED is accepted.
  • Manual Dexterity: Precise hand-eye coordination is essential for handling small instruments and making precise adjustments during calibrations.
  • Physical Stamina: Calibration technicians may need to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift heavy equipment.
  • Vision: Good vision, including the ability to distinguish colors, is important for reading instruments and performing precise adjustments.
  • Detail-Oriented: A high degree of attention to detail is necessary to ensure accurate calibrations and maintain thorough records.
  • Mobility: Technicians may need to move around the calibration laboratory or travel to different locations to calibrate equipment.
  • Communication: Effective communication skills are essential for collaborating with colleagues and reporting calibration results accurately.
