TYPE OF POSITION: SUBSTITUTE Cafeteria Worker
REPORTS TO: Cafeteria Manager, Assistant Principal, Principal
POSITION PURPOSE: To prepare and cook meals for the school cafeteria.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
- Prepares soup, meats, vegetables, salads and desserts for consumption in the school cafeteria.
- Assists in the daily cleaning of all kitchen equipment.
- Serves meals.
- Checks food shipments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Willingness to expand knowledge.
3. Efficient work habits.
4. Skills in human relations.
5. Other qualifications as deemed desirable by the School Board.
6. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of School Trustees may find appropriate and approve.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.

While performing the duties of this job the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, and is in an environment in which the room temperature may be affected by the appliances being used, and may be exposed to fumes, vapors, and varying temperatures.
