Join us in opening the new Chamonix Hotel and Casino in beautiful Cripple Creek Colorado. You will be front and center in the middle of all the action in the new beautiful hotel lobby.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Barista will execute the vision of Chamonix Hotel and Casino through serving hot and cold beverages according to the our authentic recipes or through the guests’ special requests. The ideal candidate needs to be knowledgeable on all beverage menu items and products, provide top quality, fast paced service and have the ability to work at various locations throughout the hotel and property.

Great communication skills.
The ability to function comfortably in busy environments.
Prior experience in a coffee centric business
Are able to lift 25 lbs or more

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepares and serves authentic coffees, espressos, and other café drinks per guidelines
• Serves and warms breads, pasties and other quick serve food items.
• Provides guests with exceptional service and product details, such as the blend of coffee or preparation description, breads, pastries and other food items.
• Sets up stations and replenishes displays neatly including separation of allergens (nuts, wheat, etc.)
• Ensures all items are dated and following First in First Out (FIFO) standards
• Weighs, grinds, or packs coffee beans for guests according to their specifications
• Cleans and sanitizes work areas in accordance with supervising health agency of the area
• Works across all quick service counters serving a variety of Bakery and Café items Operates a cash register and ensures accuracy of cash drops and authenticity of bills
• Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume
• Complies with department policies including quality, health, safety, and sanitation standards
• Must be able to have open and flexible availability
• Performs other duties as required or assigned
• Communicate quickly and efficiently with management when any issues surface
• Communicates effectively with Pasty department regarding sales, inventory and orders

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

• Knowledgeable and enthusiastic about coffee, tea and drink preparation and product
• Outstanding communication and guest service skills
• Food Handling License preferred
• Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations and follow directions for all production
• 1+ year barista experience on a manual espresso machine preferred
• High school diploma preferred
• Must be passionate, entrepreneurial, and dedicated to success.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance
• Ability to lift and carry items weighing 10 – 30 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 pounds on a regular (or occasional basis).
• Ability to stand for prolong periods of time
• Ability to operate equipment within the QSR departments
• Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the store.  Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment
• Climbing steps regularly.
