Description of Position
Cafe Line Cook, Verde Valley Campus
Part time (25 hours/week)
Schedule: Monday - Thursday with occasional Friday/Saturday
Reporting to the Cafes Manager candidate will work as a team executing various duties to successfully run a restaurant/cafe on one or more of the Yavapai campuses and assist with campus catering needs as needed. Some supervisory responsibilities to assist the Cafes Director in the operation of two cafes and various events. Responsible for maintaining a clean, well-functioning and safe kitchen and food service environment. Exemplifies and provides professional customer service and a positive attitude.
Assisting with stocking and setting up the kitchen stations
- Preparing food including cleaning and cutting the ingredients and cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers and snacks
- Plating prepared foods based on Café Manager's guidance
- Working with servers to ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time
- Washing and cleaning the kitchen and cooking utensils and storing the equipment at the end of shifts
- Ensuring that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations
Minimum Expectations & Requirements
- Current food service workers certification with Yavapai Health Department
- All hiring documents must be completed prior to first work shift, including acceptable documentation for the I-9 Form.
- Able to work in a fast pace where most time will be spent standing or moving around to complete food orders and other tasks assigned by supervisor
- Work with a diverse student population

- Demonstrate reliability and good customer service skills
- Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate time management and organizational skills, and ability to complete a variety of tasks on immediate or extended timelines
