Café and Retail Supervisor (Shift Lead)

L.A. Burdick Chocolates, celebrated for its exquisite artisanal chocolates, pastries, and beverages, is looking for a full-time and a part-time Supervisor (Shift Lead) to support the operation of its New York City store located in Soho.

Responsibilities

• Support Manager and Assistant Manager in leading the store team and upholding the company’s operational standards
• Promote outstanding experience for both customers and employees
• Engage with customers and teammates regarding what defines and differentiates L.A. Burdick
• Demonstrate diligence and preciseness in the presentation and serving of chocolates, beverages, and pastries
• Assist with merchandising, placing and receiving orders, inventory count, and rotation of products
• Supervise and assign duties to team members and ensure the team delivers excellent products and service while maintaining a clean and organized environment
• Perform opening and/or closing procedures, including product set-up, closing out cash registers, making deposits, locking-up, among others
• Assist with training and mentorship of new and current team members
• Follow all food safety and safety guidelines and regulations

• Must be reliable
• Previous cash handling experience preferred
• Ability to work some weekends and evenings
• Ability to stand and walk for a full shift
• Ability to use hands, wrists, and fingers to operate the espresso machine, cash register, among others
• Ability to bend, squat, twist, and reach above shoulder level and below waist level to, for example, grab boxes or cups
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 lbs
