POSITION DESCRIPTION: Assist in coordinating and executing the statewide CADD training program, including scheduling, registration of participant, computer and monitor availability, and reserving needed resources.  Assist in identifying needed district and industry training.  Assist in developing training curriculum and materials for both standards and instruction.

 

Provide assistance to CADD users of Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) supported CADD applications. Provide multi-venue support such as: GOTO Meetings, webinars, hands-on help sessions and  Conference/Event presentations. Support the Department's Digital Delivery processes, including FDOT's document management systems used in CADD production. Report support activities in the appropriate incident log and make reports to management as required.

 

Assist with execution of certification testing of CADD software, which includes working with developers to resolve issues found during testing before the CADD software is released.  Also serve as a technical advisor and facilitate discipline-based Technical Advisory Committees (TACs), reporting these activities to management as required.

 

Assist in the development, maintenance and application of documentation associated with the Department'sCADD applications. This includes:  the FDOT CADD Manual, Help files, Engineering / CADD Systems Office (ECSO) Website and SharePoint portals. 

 

Assist in the review, development, and maintenance of CADD training curriculum including formal training manuals and similar courseware, hands-on/self-serve CADD

training guides, and GOTO Meeting/Webinar training videos. Report activities and progress to management as required.

 

Assist with the development and management of technical specifications and requirements for the development of CADD software by either FDOT or contracted developers as requested. This includes monitoring development progress and technical work in accordance with those technical requirements and specifications.  Report activities and progress to management as required.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of customer service; Knowledge of the concepts, terminology, principles and analytical techniques of civil engineering; Knowledge of civil engineering design, construction, production and/or operations; Knowledge of the Department's CADD software and standards; Skilled in planning and organizing work assignments; Skilled in using CADD hardware and software; Ability to use correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation in writings; Ability to communicate technical information verbally and in writing; Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments; Ability to be proactive and work independently; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; Ability to handle multiple tasks; Ability to deal with internal and external customers in a courteous manner; Ability to solve problems relating to engineering; Ability to analyze and interpret data and solve technical problems; Ability to apply quantitative techniques; Ability to communicate technical information effectively, both verbally and in writing; Ability to make presentations; Ability to identify needs and develop and present training effectively; Ability to research industry literature of changing technology.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or its equivalent and two years experience.
