Description
As the Project Surveyor/ CAD Technician, you will manage Land Development, Transportation, and Construction related projects using knowledge and experience in project management, production management, staffing, and clientele coordination. Your Primary Responsibilities will include
- Keep up with current technology and changes to the programs being used.
- Perform calculations for field crews and mapping as needed.
- Prepare Right-of-way Control Maps and Right-of-way Maps.
- Compile and Research projects as needed prior to starting work.
- Analyze deeds and research materials for the production of the survey.
- Assure that all projects stay on schedule and within budget and discuss any issues/discrepancies with Supervisor if needed.
- Utilize MTS and/or FDOT checklist throughout the performance of each project
- Manage office personnel assigned to your projects.
- Coordinate with the field crew supervisor your project needs and work with field staff to assure desired product from the field.
- Prioritize projects and their schedules for yourself and your staff.
- Coordinate QA/QC scheduling.
- Monitor each project to ensure that the client is satisfied with the service and product and that all aspects of the scope have been performed fully and correctly.
- Review time sheets of assigned staff on a daily basis for your assigned projects.
- Coordinate and assist with project estimates as requested.
What you'll need
- Minimum of four years of experience in responsible charge.
- Experience in and the ability to produce right-of-way (R/W) maps.
- Successful history of project management.
- FDOT experience is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Extensive technical knowledge of CADD systems; including MicroStation, Geopak, Civil 3D, CAiCE, Excel, Microsoft Office Suite, and EFB is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Licensed Professional Surveyor and Mapper (P.L.S. or P.S.M.) in the State of Florida (preferred).
- Valid driver's license with approved/acceptable driving history required.
