What Your Day Will Look Like

 

At Consor, we specialize in engineering, construction, and environmental services.  We offer full-service design engineering of complete transportation roadway and structural infrastructure, complex and underwater bridge inspection, load rating, construction management services, water/wastewater/stormwater planning and design, communications, and many other related services for varying project types and sizes for numerous public agency clients.

 

With over 150 structures, roadway, drainage, and system engineers in the Pacific Northwest and over 200 structural technical staff nationwide, we offer a great experience, capacity, depth of service, and resources to deliver various transportation projects.

 

Consor is seeking a CAD Technician IV to join our Idaho TP&D Team to provide CAD design leadership along with daily design and drafting support for a growing practice. The position will be located in Boise, ID. The primary focus is CAD for transportation projects that include roadway, drainage, and structures elements. As a dynamic and growing engineering consulting firm, Consor is full of opportunities for career development and geographic mobility. Previous experience with ITD plan preparation is a plus. Position would also coordinate with CAD staff in our west coast offices.

 

Hourly Range:  $35/hr to $45/hr

What You'll Do
  • Develop roadway and bridge alignments, profiles, sections, details, and associated plan sheets based on general written or verbal direction from Project Managers and Design Engineers to produce quality drawings
  • Make drawing edits based on markups from the client or Engineering staff
  • Create and modify base drawings
  • Develop initial engineering layouts and creation of design drawings and prepare final drawings conforming to the client's CAD standards and requirements
  • Understand and adhere to project budgets, schedules, and quality control requirements
  • Be relied upon as a productive team member and CAD user to work on a typical set of project drawings from beginning to end with professional quality output that conforms to company or client standards
  • In the future, may supervise and train other less experienced technicians, designers, and drafters

What You'll Need
  • At least 5 years of CAD technician/designer experience
  • At least High School Diploma
  • Proficiency in MicroStation V8i/Connect and/or AutoCAD
  • Familiar with ProjectWise
  • Ability to assemble plan sets through coordination with multiple engineering disciplines and associated reference files
  • Capable of 3D modeling capabilities in CAD environments
  • Proficiency in managing external references within AutoCAD and/or MicroStation environments
  • Familiar with ITD drafting / project delivery standards
  • Experienced in roadway, drainage, traffic control, and/or structural drafting
