Job Description

OTHON Engineering is currently seeking a CAD Technician for immediate full-time employment at the Dallas, TX location. We are looking for a self-motivated, aggressively enterprising individual wanting to expand their career opportunities within a growing consulting engineering firm. The applicant will be responsible for providing assistance to engineers and engineering technicians for the following activities:

• Produce plan sheets pertaining to highways and roads including the following disciplines: roadway, structures, and drainage.
• Prepare three-dimensional (3D) CAD models for the above disciplines.
• Perform calculations related to the basic geometry.
• Perform calculations for material quantities.
• Review the work of other CAD technicians for the quality control process.
• From time to time, help other design disciplines within the organization such as traffic control design, signing and pavement marking design, illumination and traffic signal design, and intelligent transportation systems.

Minimum Skills and Experience

• An Associate of Applied Science Degree in Engineering Technology (or other related fields); or
• High School Diploma, a CAD Drafting Certificate, and 2 years of relevant experience; or
• High School Diploma and 3 years of relevant experience.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Knowledge of MicroStation drafting software.
