Cad Technician

Job Title: CAD Technician

Reports to: Executive Director of Business Development

FLSA Status: EXEMPT

Schedule: Monday - Friday (8:00AM to 5:00PM)

Primary duties and responsibilities:

1. Convert 2D drawing into 3D CAD files
2. Convert customer provided engineering drawings into 3D models that can be inputted into CAM software
3. Flatten 3D models and create progressive stamping layouts
4. Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time, materials, capital investment and labor expenses
5. Ensure that each bid meets customer expectations and established estimate meeting customer specifications.
6. Confer with manufacturing engineers, technicians, subcontractors, contractors, vendors, etc., to assist in determining manufacturing feasibility.
7. Ability to read and interpret prints as well as GD&T.
8. Effectively interact with employees across all levels of the organization (Sales, Engineering, Program Management, Production, Corporate Management, etc.).
9. Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Education, prior work experience and specialized skills and knowledge:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineer, Engineer Technology, or CAD preferred or equivalent work experience
• Manufacturing experience a plus
• Must be proficient with AutoCad, CAM, Inventor, Solid Works, Unigraphics, Forming Suite, Creo or Catia
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office

Physical environment/working conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be expected to go between and office and manufacturing environment daily
