Job Title: CAD Designer Date: October 2023
Reports To: Chief Engineer
Summary
CAD Designer will be responsible for producing CAD drawings and documents for marine equipment.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with the design of equipment and systems. Develop computer generated manufacturing drawings, 3D Models, details, data sheets, etc.
• Assist in the creation of Bill of Materials (BOMs) and Purchase Bill of Materials
• Assist in the verification of project work to ensure it is in accordance with the project contract documents, industry codes, standards and regulations, etc.
• Research and recommend resolutions to drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interferences and errors
• Assist with monitoring and documenting drawing changes
• Review vendor POs for technical compliance
• Determine applicable vendors for key components
• Maintain project documentation as required
• Assist with creation of data packages
• Assist with technical aspects of quality receiving
• Participate in the NCR and SCAR processes

Qualifications and Educational Requirements

• Associates Degree a plus.
• 5+ years of experience working in a fabrication shop
• Experience developing CAD drawings and documents for welding and machining
• Experience using SolidWorks and AutoCad
• Basic understanding or willingness to learn standards, codes, and specifications
• Excellent verbal and written communication, decision making, and mechanical aptitude
• Position may occasionally require evening and weekend work. Some travel may be required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required
• Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment
• Must possess strong organizational and time management skills
• Results-oriented with willingness to take responsibility and initiative
