Cad Designer

We are an exciting and growing international design-build specialty contractor looking to fill a position for a detail-oriented AutoCAD designer / drafter.

Responsibilities for AutoCAD Designer / Drafter

Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings

Production of shop drawings, erection plans, and miscellaneous details and plans

Communicate with other team members, including PM’s, Engineers, Erectors, etc.

Produce steel erection plans, elevations, details, and sections

Create fabrication drawings for columns, beams, horizontal and vertical bracing, other steel parts, and finish angles and plates

Create Bill of Materials for structural and miscellaneous steel projects

Working knowledge of structural steel materials (W, S, & M shapes, channels, angles, etc.)

2 – 5 years experience in the steel detailing / design industry

Experience with AWS welding symbols and AISC and Standard Code of Practice

Qualifications

Full working knowledge of AutoCAD LT 2014 or newer

Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, and Outlook

Excellent attention to detail

Strong communication skills are required

Must be punctual, organized, and able to multi-task

A positive attitude and strong ambition to see a complicated project to the end
