Cable Assembler

Primary Responsibilities

• Performs complex assembly duties in accordance with drawings, travelers and manufacturing procedures.
• Operates shop hand tools, microscope, solder irons and ultra sonic cleaner.
• Uses spooling equipment to measure and cut wire.
• Uses test meters to check quality of the assembled cables and connectors.
• Operates label machines in accordance with operator's manual.
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
• Assists other assemblers as needed, in order to meet shipping demands.
• Assembles miniature cables, using standard connectors such as 10-32, BNC & TNC, MIL-STD Connectors.
• Flexible and capable of processing more complex cable assemblies with minimal supervision.
• Trouble shoots cable assemblies.

Knowledge And Skill Requirements

• 5-10 years experience in assembly.
• Must be to read and understand assembly drawings.
• Advanced schematic reading and ability to trouble shoot cable assemblies.
• Advanced reading, writing and shop math skills.
• Experience soldering miniature parts under a microscope.
• Use of simple hand tools such as crimpers and ovens.
• IPC-A-620 certification.
• Good hand and eye dexterity.
• Good communication skills.
• Must be a local candidate

Salary Range
$19.00 - $23.00 per hour
