Store Fixture manufacturer located in northeast Philadelphia seeking experience Assembly Mechanic / Cabinetmaker. Qualified candidate must be self-motivated, detailed oriented with knowledge constructing assorted millwork & cabinetry. Applicants must have no restrictions lifting parts daily. Dependable with a positive attitude on achieving daily goals under direct supervision in fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assembly of fixtures may include setting-up and operating equipment, including power saws, sanders, routers, and nail guns
- Trimming parts using hand tools, including wood chisels, wood files, and sanders
- Assembles units by attaching parts and components using fasteners and adhesives; verifying dimensions; trimming and adjusting parts
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy environment by adhering to organization standards and policies
- Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions and established procedures
- Documents production by completing forms, reports, logs, and records
- Maintains quality production results by following organization standards
Requirements:
- Ability to read & interpret shop drawings, assembly details and BOMs
- Set up and operate standard woodworking equipment
- Self-sufficient in verifying dimensions
- Experience working with laminates, veneers, solid wood, solid surface and other materials
- Installs hardware such as European hinges, drawer slides, catches, drawer pulls, etc.
- Utilizes pneumatic nailer for fastening joints at designated places
- Glues, fits, and clamps parts and subassemblies together to form complete unit
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds without assistance and able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy environment by adhering to company standards and policies.
- Must be willing to work 40 hours per week
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years related industrial experience
- A pre-employment screen is required upon hire
