BASIC PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION
Responsible for managing inventory levels to maintain the proper balance between inventory investment and fill rates. Analyze in detail time series forecasting system by reviewing forecast exceptions and providing forecast information for items without sufficient demand history (e.g. new parts, slow-moving parts, and parts with quality issues). Analyzes and researches unexpected demand to develop a forecast to be used by MRP. Ensures correct parameters are in place so system recommendations are compatible with the ordering requirements of the vendor. Provides monthly report to management summarizing vendor performance and any issues.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES: This position does the following in accordance with all applicable Federal, State and local laws / regulations and the Company's policies, procedures and guidelines:
- Review and manage forecast of high volume and new parts, monitor inventory levels to achieve good customer fill rate.
- Analyze historical trend and apply best fit model to achieve accurate MRP requirements.
- Create and manage open purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery.
- Monitor and resolve vendor claims reported by Distribution Center Receiving Department.
- Manager drop ship orders to ensure speedy delivery of products to internal and external customers.
- Interact with Engineering and Service departments pertaining to management and availability of campaign and service parts.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Business or related field preferred:
- In lieu of a degree at least 3 years of applicable experience in the area of Purchasing or Supply Chain Management required.
- With degree at least 1 years of purchasing or supply chain management experience preferred.
- Negotiation, interpersonal, persuasive and organizational skills.
- Intermediate level Microsoft Excel e.g. VLOOKUP, pivot tables.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Typical office environment.
