TRS Craft Services is looking to hire a Buyer for a Compression company located in Northwest Houston.
This position will be contact to hire.
Purpose
Reporting to the Senior Manufacturing Manager this position will be responsible for initiating purchasing requests made by departments in a timely manner at the lowest cost consistent with considerations of quality and reliability. Contact’s vendors, and requests materials and follows-up to ensure delivery date and payments are made.
Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:
•Negotiates with vendors
•Knows minimum/maximum levels of inventory, ensuring inventory levels are adequate, but not excessive.
•Maintains pricing data
•Resolves pricing discrepancies
•Generates return to vendor if delivery is incorrect
•Reviews freight bills
•Develops and maintains information to keep abreast of sources and prices
•Maintains the integrity of purchasing data on the computer-based planning system.
•Pursues target costs with suppliers in an aggressive manner.
•Make substitution recommendations where savings in cost or better delivery can be realized.
•Obtain and analyze quotations on nonstandard items and continually audit prices of standard materials and supplies.
•Search New Vendors
•Generate Purchase Order
•Requires employee to constantly type and use a computer and other office equipment, such as copier, printer, calendar, telephones, etc.
Required Education
•Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Preferred Experience and Skills
•Proficient using inventory system
•Microsoft NAV software
•Two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Physical Strain:
•Standard requirements: Bending, squatting, climbing, twisting and reaching will all be used occasionally in this position.
•Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting.
•Requires employee to sit for at least 100% of the time
•Must be able to communicate and respond to coworkers, vendors, suppliers and emergency cues/alarms, in person and on the telephone, including use of mobile devices
•Must wear all required PPE, including fire-retardant clothing, helmets, face shields, hearing protection, safety goggles, steel-toed boots, as applicable.

8am-5pm
Pay range:
$28.85-$31.25 DOE
