Hello! Pancho's Restaurant and Bar is looking for a friendly and motivated Busser/Dishwasher to assist in providing an excellent guest experience in a busy Mexican restaurant. This position will consist of bussing and dishwashing shifts each week.
Experience preferred but not mandatory.
Busser duties include but are not limited to:
- Greeting all guests warmly with an appropriate greeting
- Assuring compliance with all sanitation & other safety guidelines
- Monitoring the open dining sections of the restaurant for empty and cleaned tables
- Knowledge of all table numbers and seat positions and POS system
- Communicating guest’s dislike, dietary needs (allergies) immediately to the Server or Manager
- Pre-bussing, clearing, wiping tabletops, chairs & booster seats/high chairs, and setting tables according to company policy
- Knowledge of the dish room, including separating silverware, dishes & glassware appropriately
- Monitoring the dining room, outside patio, restaurant perimeter & restrooms, and cleaning as necessary
- Regularly communicating with Servers, Manager and other bussers to ensure efficient seating
- Performing basic cleaning & side work tasks as directed by the Manager
Dishwasher duties include but are not limited to:
- Preparing dining areas and kitchen for next shift by cleaning and restocking dining areas and cook stations.
- Cleaning machines and appliances used in the kitchen, such as coffee makers, pots, and pans, mixers, etc.
- Unloading and storing deliveries.
- Sweeping and mopping floors, especially in the event that items are broken or spilled.
- Taking out the trash and rinsing garbage cans.
- Supporting other restaurant staff members by assisting with other tasks, as needed.
- Reporting kitchen accidents or violations of food safety codes and procedures.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
- Restaurant experience preferred
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, family friendly & professional environment
- Adherence to grooming and appearance standards consistently
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with other kitchen & hospitality team members
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Must be willing to help with our drive thru window and input, bag and cash out takeout orders
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Oregon Food Handler's Card within 30 days.
