Job Overview

Maintain the dining room in a clean and orderly fashion. Assist the Food Service and provide great guest service to all our guests.

Essential Job Functions

  • Maintain tables in the dining room and assist with service to the guest. Clean and reset tables as necessary.
  • Maintain the dining room in a neat and orderly fashion. Straighten all tables, clean the floor, and table bases, and make sure all chairs and tables are in a straight line. The dining room looks neat and orderly at all times.
  • Assist guests, servers, and hosts with any needs.
  • Provide excellent service in all areas of the hotel where needed. Assist in other areas if requested.
  • Place tableware and condiments on tables
  • Serve water, welcome guests, and bread and butter set up
  • Refill beverages as needed
  • Remove dirty plates and utensils, replenish, as needed
  • Clean and reset tables after guests leave
  • Maintain health and safety regulations in all kitchen and dining areas

Qualifications, Skills, and Requirements

  • Understand the English language in order to converse with guests and understand directions or requests.
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment
  • Complete all additional tasks given by management.

Education

High school diploma, GED, or 5-year experience.

Experience

  • 5-year experience in a similar position at a 3 or 4 Diamond Hotel.
  • One to two years of employment in hospitality preferred.

Licenses or Certificates

Food handlers’ card or the ability to obtain certification at time of hire.

Physical Requirements

Ability to properly load and lift heavy trays. Repeated walking, stooping, lifting, bending, climbing some stairs, handling hot plates, properly handling glassware and flatware.

Sitting, walking, climbing stairs, standing, crouching, bending, stooping, grasping, pushing, pulling, near vision, far vision, hearing, talking, smell, taste, travel, and lifting may be required.

Safety Requirements

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required when performing work duties that may have the potential of risk to your health or safety. The hotel will provide the required PPE. Team members will be trained in the proper use and care of any assigned PPE. It is your responsibility to report defective, damaged, or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly, to your manager.

Grooming

All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance. Specific uniform guidelines and/ or required articles of clothing will be explained to you as part of the orientation process.

Schedule

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. AM, PM, nights, overnights, weekends, and/or holiday availability are required.
