Description of Work



This position is located within the Department of Adult Correction-Controller’s Office (Financial System Support).
This position is responsible for working within the NC Financial System (NCFS). Responsible determining financial impact of operator and system problems/issues as well as developing appropriate solution to a problem. This position provides client support by utilizing knowledge of NCFS and NCFS Security and will be one of the primary Security administrators for NCFS. Knowledgeable with Security, Accounts Payables, General Ledgers, Budgetary Control, Financial Controller, Inventory, P-card, NetPlus, and Core Banking. Position performs data analysis using report writing tool such as NCFS OTBI and excel. Position assists over 1100 users. This position participates in upgrades to systems prior to being migrated into production. Responsible for assisting with NCID maintenance and other system administrative positions. Position assists in developing and maintaining manuals and/or documentation for all financial systems, developing training material and conducting training in both one on one and in a group setting to the department. This position will be instrumental with NCFS security and inventory accounts payable and purchasing.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.

About the Department of Adult Correction (DAC)
The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction is responsible for the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced after conviction for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes State Prisons, Correction Enterprises, the Division of Community Supervision, and the Division of Rehabilitation & Reentry.

  • Proven experience analyzing and interpreting policy and procedures to resolve problems and questions.
  • Demonstrated experience communicating effectively both verbally and in writing with internal and external customers.
  • Proven experience developing, monitoring & communicating changes to project scope, plans and timelines for complex projects.
  • Documented experience evaluating complex situations, utilizing creative and critical thinking to develop solutions to business processes.

Bachelor’s degree from appropriately accredited institution in a discipline related to the area of assignment with three years of programmatic experience related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
