SUMMARY
The Business Support Specialist (administrative support) shall provide personnel, budget, and travel arranger services which support more than 75 scientists and management staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists with domestic travel authorization / voucher preparation, and forms routing. Including use of applicable Federal Government travel rules, regulations, and software
- Coordinates for Center Administrative staff office logistics, meetings, and receptionist duties;
- Performs a timekeeper role with bi-weekly time and attendance documentation, forms, reports and approval routing and filing;
- Assists Center Administrative staff with budget report preparation, labor adjustments, journal voucher processing.
- Uses specific computer software for non-referencing invoice payment processing, credit card adjustment, reconciling credit card statements, maintaining credit card purchasing logs; coordinate statement routing for approval and review.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Associate's Degree in a Business related field
- Previous job experience must include administrative, financial, accounting, or budget analysis focus
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Proficient with PC computer based systems and electronic mail programs;
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite;
- Proficient with Internet Explorer and other similar web browsers;
- Ability to work as part of a group with changing priorities and strict deadlines
- Excellent communication skills bot h written and verbal and superior inter-personal skills
- Applicable training on GOV systems and software will be provided
- Ability to successfully pass a drug screen and background investigation
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work will be primarily performed in an office environment.
