Business Strategy & Analytics Internship (Part-Time)

Summary of Responsibilities:

The St. Louis Cardinals are currently seeking candidates for its Business Strategy & Analytics Internship position. This internship will assist with writing SQL queries, cleaning data, developing dashboards, reports, and statistical analysis to assist Business Strategy & Analytics team provide insights and create efficiencies within the Club.

Essential Functions of the Job:

• Assist with querying and cleaning data from relational databases, APIs, NoSQL, and other non-standard sources
• Assist with creating automated and ad-hoc reports to share findings and recommendations
• Interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques
• Create presentations to distribute findings to various departments

Education and Experience Required:

• Current enrollment in a college or university required, with a degree emphasis in, Statistics, Analytics, Mathematics, Economics or related field; at least junior year status
• Experience with SQL or query writing
• Knowledge of R or Python
• Knowledge of data visualizations/business intelligence software (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Ability to explain technical issues to technical and non-technical audiences

Education and Experience Preferred:

• Experience with SQL or query writing
• Experience with R or Python
• Experience with data visualization / Business Intelligence software (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.)
• Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Ability to explain technical issues to technical and non-technical audiences
• Passion for sports and/or baseball
