Job Description Summary
A Business Relationship Manager (BRM) is a strategic IT partner who shares ownership for the business strategy though the delivery of an aligned technology strategy enabling business strategy success. The BRM owns senior-level relationships and serves as a single point of focus, working to converge Information Technology in support. This is achieved by stimulating, surfacing, and shaping demand for capabilities and assets, in addition to ensuring that the potential business value from those capabilities and assets are captured, optimized, and recognized.
Through effective relationship management capabilities, the BRM contributes to the business partner leadership team by actively partnering with business peers to determine strategic direction. They work to identify ways in which the BRM's function can support and advance business objectives. It is important that the BRM is both an expert in the technology space as well as robust understanding of the business function they are partnered with. In short, the BRM is the face of IT to the business and the face of the business to IT.
Additionally, the BRM shapes business demand into supply by 1) partnering with appropriate resources to facilitate the creation of idea documents, business cases, and value plans; 2) ensuring value optimization and communication; and 3) enabling continuous improvement in all areas and people around them.
Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
Strategic Partnering and Strategy
  • Partner with business leaders to articulate their business' needs and requirements that will advance business performance.
  • Partner with business leadership to plan new joint initiatives, evaluate proposals, and determine how they fit into business capability roadmaps and priorities.
  • Think strategically by identifying business opportunities and the best-suited position for the adoption within the business partner organization. Measure adoption and work with business leadership to develop future roadmap and opportunities.
  • Identify and integrate business partners' long-range plans into business capability roadmaps and priorities, as appropriate. Brief stakeholders on business partner plans.
  • Build and manage the relationship team to ensure convergence and strategic partnering with the business partner team.
  • Be creative and innovative with regards to your knowledge and awareness of industry trends and digital advances as they relate to new opportunities and business needs.
  • Share ownership of the BRM's functional operating and project/program budget at an operating unit level; and perform accurate budgeting and forecasting across operations and projects or programs.
  • Close collaboration with the functional leaders to create an IT vision, strategy and roadmap in support of the business unit's strategy and vision. The BRM will be held accountable for the successful deployment of the holistic IT strategy and roadmap, including applications, data, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and people/partner ecosystem.

Partnership and Delivery
  • Lead as the strategic interface between Global IT and business partner to stimulate, surface, and shape business demand and ensure that the potential business value from those assets and capabilities is captured, realized, optimized, and recognized.
  • Develop a deep knowledge of the business partner's business and build positive relationship development, both horizontally and vertically.
  • Ensure business value realization and optimization, from value plans through consultancy, business case development, financial awareness, managing expectations, and identifying opportunities to add value.
  • This role is the ultimate IT leader accountable to operationalize the IT strategy, deliver on-time and in-budget, enable/advocate for the necessary process transformations, and finally ensure adoption and value realization.
  • Ensure project and initiative progress, including consistent and effective communication. This includes managing escalation and avoiding risk.
  • As the IT leader for the function, this role is the point of scalation for IT day-to-day operations and is also accountable to drive our vision of IT exceptional experiences by partnering with the different IT groups in a culture of shared ownership.
  • Measure and communicate business value realized with the business partner on a periodic basis.

Scope:
  • Develop the business case for large scale enterprise programs
  • May onboard and manage 1-10+ direct and contract resources as required for projects
  • Partner with IT leaders to support business unit alignment with global enterprise solutions except where regional requirements, such as regulatory, are needed

Basic & Preferred Qualifications
Position Requirements: (Minimum qualifications required to successfully perform the job or be considered)
Education/ Certifications: (Required & Preferred)
  • Requires Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Art in Business, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent education and experience
  • Preferred to have a Master of Business Administration

Skills and Experience:
  • Previous work experience in the global manufacturing, agriculture and/or food and beverage industry preferred
  • A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in IT function
  • Experience successfully leading large, complex projects
  • Strong knowledge of project management, Agile methodologies and approaches
  • Highly skilled in business partnering and relationship management working closely with customers and the IT delivery teams
  • Ability to communicate clearly and use strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills to negotiate, listen, mitigate conflict, and achieve desired results.
  • Must demonstrate strategic thinking and ability

Physical Environment/Demands:
  • Some travel to Kennewick, WA will be required (Up to 25%)
  • Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment
  • Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range posted based on various factors, including, but not limited to, job duties, experience and expertise. A candidate's work location could also impact the actual compensation being outside of the range to reflect local cost of labor. A reasonable annual estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $120,290.00 - $180,420.00
