Job description

The BRM will report to the HBE CFO and is responsible for proactively building relationships with HBE (Holcim Building Envelope) business leaders at various levels for a specific value stream(s) and ensuring IT initiatives and services align with the strategic direction of the business. The role can have up to 4 BAs (Business Analysts) / POs (Product Owners) and/or PMs (Project Managers) / SMs (Scrum Masters) reporting to it and lead the Application Delivery Team.

Through leading their team, the role works with the business for its assigned stream(s) to continuously understand and communicate their needs and participate in the validation of the proposed solutions. Using the SAFe Agile Framework, their team will ensure the solution is implemented.

The incumbent is responsible for identifying business needs and product market trends, prioritizing features, guiding the work through the Program Kanban in support of business agility and developing the program vision and roadmap for an Agile Scrum Team. They work closely with development, in short, integrated learning cycles, to bring the voice of the business to the developers and the voice of development to the business, and to maximize the value of multiple products resulting from the work of the Agile team.

This highly visible role within HBE will focus on:

  • Ensuring the value stream(s) under their responsibility get maximum value from IT to increase business user satisfaction, improve productivity, reduce costs, and promote the benefits of knowledge sharing across the business and IT, articulating business needs and issues into requirements and solutions, inspiring and managing business needs to ensure the most valuable and effective use of IT investment, Understanding and responding to future needs of the business.

 

  • Ensuring that IT service quality matches with business expectations for IT operations and projects delivery, Educating business users on the value of IT engagement within their service line or region increasing awareness of the services provided by the IT organization, and measuring the success of projects by showing how they have contributed value to the business.

Main Contributions

  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
  • Work with senior leaders to evolve culture and organizational behavior elevating IT as a strategic partner.
  • Lead a team of BAs / POs and PMs / SMs and the Application Delivery Team toward implementing solutions that improve our business. 
  • Translate business vision to enable shared understanding and rapid execution by business and IT personnel.
  • Develop deep knowledge of HBE business units and functions and build both horizontal and vertical relationships with business and IT leaders that deliver business impact.
  • Advises Business Process Support Owners and operational management on technological advancements and opportunities.
  • Develop success criteria with business leaders and measure progress of IT initiatives against those factors.
  • Works with the Business Process owners on approach and methodology for monitoring and validating that IT is providing value to the business.
  • Works directly with ADC Leaders responsible for maintaining the integrity of the core application while ensuring the application meets the functional needs of operations.
  • Works alongside global IT groups for the development of worldwide templates as it relates to Demand Management.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and take accountability for service delivery along with Project Management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Business, Computer Science or a related disciplines.
  • ITIL certification and Project Management or Business Analysis certification are considered an asset.

Required Experience:

  • Experience with Holcim systems, business, and/or process environment and standards.
  • Acumen in Business Relationship management and experience with effective people and/or process management.
  • Experience in vendor and financial management an asset

  • Ability to communicate openly and effectively with a variety of Business Stakeholders and IT colleagues.
  • Proactive in terms of alerting management to deviations and risks that may require a modification to the proposed design or scope.
  • High willingness to drive transformation and service improvement.
