Business Process Improvement Analyst For The Nih

Malbaie Solutions is a boutique consulting firm specialized in providing management consulting and information technology solutions to government and private organizations. Malbaie is looking for a Business Process Improvement Analyst to join our fast growing team and support the National Institutes of Health. This position will play a significant role in performing a current state assessment of budget planning, execution and reporting processes by gathering pain point and business requirements. The analyst will be responsible for process analysis, requirements gathering and developing a future state for modernizing budget processes through an integrated software solution. Other responsibilities include:

• Collaborate with key stakeholders (e.g., budget analysts, principal investigators, administrative officers, etc. ) to understand current budget processes, systems, pain points, and areas for improvement
• Interview key stakeholders with a large emphasis on pain points and areas for improvement involving the clinical and basic science budgeting processes.
• Develop a comprehensive list of business requirements based on interviews conducted
• Collect reporting requirements of staff involved in budget activities and evaluation of data currently collected in existing systems.
• Identify data unavailable and needed for capture to support future reporting, BI, and analytics.
• Gather system use cases and document Business Processes to define organization scope and complexity
• Support the project team in developing short and long-term solutions for addressing identified pain points

Required Skills:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a customer-facing Business Analyst.
• Knowledge of federal budget lifecycle: formulation, planning and execution.
• Strong requirements analysis skills.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working directly with end users and upper management.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
• Ability to work independently and handle, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines and time constraints.
• Ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
