Our Energy & Transportation (E&T) segment has a broad portfolio of products and services - which include engines, generator sets, industrial gas turbines and locomotives, along with other related equipment depending on the industry and application. We deliver these products and services to Cat machine, oil & gas, power generation, transportation and industrial customers. E&T is also developing the advanced power sources of the future and is working on many solutions to help our customers lower their carbon footprint. Additionally, our Remanufacturing Division is another key component to the E&T portfolio, which provides great economical and sustainability benefits to customers. 

Job Summary

The Business Process Analyst is responsible to ensure the accurate completion of SAP-based Order Management Process (OMP) change requests and projects. This includes documenting the needs and requirements of the engine business community as well as designing, testing, and implementing logical solutions to break fixes & enhancements in SAP-based Order Management Process (OMP). This position supports the Engine “quote to cash” process and works closely with business partners in Product groups, Industries, IT, tax, accounting, account coordinators and transportation as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the order management process.

What You Will Do:

• Support internal and external customers with engine quotes, orders, deliveries and billing documents
• Analyze information to provide a recommendation for SAP enhancements
• Document and communicate business issues to a technical team so issues may be routinely identified and resolved.
• Provide functional configuration, maintenance, and support for Customer Solution Quoter (Dealer Ordering tool), Sales and Distribution (SD), Design to Order (DTO), and OMP interfaces to legacy systems
• Consult with technical team on the design for system break/fix and enhancements
• Document and maintain Business Process documentation for unique ordering scenarios
• Reduce work-around processes to simplify quote to invoice process

What You Have:

• Education/Experience:  This position typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years of job related experience.
• B u siness Analysis: Knowledge of business analysis and the set of tasks, techniques and tools required to identify business needs; ability to recommend solutions that deliver value to stakeholders.
• C o r e Application Systems: Knowledge of major production application systems used for delivery of services to internal and external clients; ability to leverage major production application systems in diverse situations.
• I n formation Capture: Knowledge of the methods, channels and processes to obtain needed information; ability to identify, capture and document relevant business information in an auditable, organized, understandable and easily retrievable manner.
• Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
• Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
• I T Environment: Extensive experience with SAP. Knowledge of an organization's IT purposes and activities; ability to create an effective IT environment for business operations.
• I T Standards, Procedures & Policies: Knowledge of Information Technology (IT) standards and policies; ability to utilize a variety of administrative skill sets and technical knowledge to manage organizational IT policies, standards, and procedures.
• S y stem and Technology Integration: Knowledge of the features and facilities of systems; ability to integrate and communicate among applications, databases and technology platforms.

Top Candidates Will Also Have: 

• Understanding of Pricing procedures
• Understanding of Data Steward and Governance
• Experience with Lean principles and practices
• Experience with tools like Power BI, DevOps or ServiceNow   
• Understanding of the Caterpillar organization, products, policies, and procedures
• Extensive working knowledge of ordering systems (preferably related to Caterpillar Energy & Transportation products, but can include machines, parts or other ordering systems)
