PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES: The Business Manager is a senior management position, reporting directly to the CEO of the Company. This role provides strategic leadership, a consistent business perspective and makes critical management decisions for office staff, business, accounting and HR functions.
SCOPE OF JOB:
- OFFICE: Ensure that we have in place consistent office processes, systems and procedures to serve as a resource to the operating divisions. Maintain an effective team in the office through coaching, staff development and driving accountability so that the organization executes tasks in a timely manner, supports the departments and contributes to business results being achieved.
- HUMAN RESOURCES: Ensure that we have Human Resource processes, systems and procedures being implemented consistently across the organization (Compliance, Performance Management, Recruiting).
- FINANCE: Ensure we have consistent and documented accounting and office practices to proactively and accurately manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and compliance-related items and to produce timely monthly financial reporting. Responsible for the successful implementation and management of the company’s indirect expenses, with specific responsibility for expense lines such as Vehicle, Health and Worker’s Comp/Employer’s liability insurances.
- BUSINESS: Recommend opportunities to improve business growth, efficiency and profitability and play a key role in the execution of these improvements.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Be a problem solver who works to overcome the obstacles that may prevent the company from reaching its goals.
- Demonstrate experience with progressive responsibility in operations, HR and accounting.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to direct employees and lead the department.
- Have strong operational knowledge of accounting and budgeting.

- Demonstrated ability and focus to develop, communicate, motivate and manage toward a strategic vision.
- Ability to promote a culture based in trust that allows effective engagement and ultimately works through conflict to achieve results.
