Business Litigation Associate with 3-5 Years Experience
A California Law Firm, a venerable multi-service law firm headquartered in downtown San Jose, is actively recruiting for a mid-level (3-5 years) associate with substantive Business Litigation experience.
This position may be based in our Tri-Valley (Pleasanton), Peninsula (San Mateo), or Silicon Valley (downtown San Jose) office. Periodic travel between our offices is necessary, as this associate will work with attorneys in all office locations.
Job Requirements:
The successful candidate:

• possesses strong working knowledge of the California Code of Civil Procedure and Evidence Code
• has experience preparing pleadings; preparing discovery demands and responses; motion practice; appearing in court; taking and defending depositions; and preparing for and participating in mediations and settlement negotiations
• works well with others, in teams, and across practice groups
• has private law practice experience, with some experience taking responsibility for client matters (with supervision) and disciplined contemporaneous time entry
• has experience independently identifying issues and anticipating/recommending strategy in litigation
• has strong academic credentials
• has excellent written and oral communication skills
• has strong legal and factual/investigative research skills
• has an exquisite attention to detail and accuracy
• is committed to excellence and has a strong work ethic
• has a desire to learn and grow professionally
• wants to invest in building a future with a mid-sized law firm

Must be an active member of the State Bar of California and in good standing.
