Position Title: Business and Licensing Specialist
Division: Business DivisionReports To: Business Director
Salary: $37,000
Position Purpose:
This position will support the West Virginia Secretary of State's Business Division and Charity department in day-to-day operations, specifically as a customer service representative in the Charity Department, providing expert guidance on Charitable registrations, including the filing and processing of applications through online programs. General knowledge of non-profit business structures will also be a requirement. The position will allow for the opportunity for cross-training into other functions within the office. This position will be located in Clarksburg, West Virginia, but will complete training in Charleston, West Virginia. Training is expected to last for a two-week time period (Monday-Friday), but may take additional time.
The ideal candidate must be friendly and positive to provide excellent service to customers.Examples of Duties:
- Processing filings for charitable organizations.
- Provide customer service.
- Support Call Center.
- Assist walk-in customers.
- Support online filing systems.
- Participate in the cross-training initiative across the Division.
- Knowledge of the WV Code relating to all Business and Charity functions.
This individual must display professional appearance at all times when representing the Secretary of State.
Office Policies:
This individual must abide by all policies outlined in the Secretary of State's Office Policy Handbook.EDUCATION STANDARDS
College degree preferred, but High School Diploma may be acceptable with sufficient experience.
Previous communication related experience that highlights the interaction with the public.
Must be able to pass a full credit/criminal background inquiry.

- Must have excellent verbal and written skills.
- Must have computer skills to include the use of Microsoft Office and literacy into the use of web based applications and security of their online presence.
