Job Summary
As a Business Intelligence Developer, you will collaborate closely with Data Engineers, crafting and governing the flow of data across our dynamic organization. Your expertise in Power BI, data modeling, and dashboard creation will not only drive decisions but also contribute significantly to our strategic goals. To excel in this role, you should understand how to build data relationships, extract valuable insights from data, create visually appealing dashboards, and be an expert in advanced features of Power BI. In this role, career progression is structured into three steps (I, II, Senior). Step I is the entry level, ideal of individuals who meet the minimum requirements of this position, offering a chance to build on foundational skills and knowledge. Step II is for individuals that have at least three years of experience in this role and have enhanced their skills through solving complex problems. The Senior step is for those with over six years of experience that have exceptional proficiency and the ability to independently handle complex projects. These steps will provide a road map for professional growth and increased responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Masterfully utilize Power BI for creating datasets, writing DAX measures, and understanding data modeling with star schema.
2. Manage and enhance Power BI deployments, overseeing tenant and premium instances for optimal performance.
3. Develop insightful reporting solutions based on a deep understanding of business processes and maintain a robust metadata repository for effective data discovery and self-service BI.
4. Educate and support teams in fully leveraging data resources, ensuring high data quality and security standards across the company.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the utility of the data warehouse, managing data privacy, security, and compliance.
6. Maintain comprehensive documentation on BI processes and act as a junior Data Engineer to support Databricks and related tasks.
7. Stay up to date with emerging technologies and best practices through training, industry conferences, and networking opportunities.
Minimum Job Requirements
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
1. Proficiency in Power BI, TSQL/Spark SQL, DAX, and GIT.
2. Strong analytical thinking and independent problem-solving skills.
3. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks.
4. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and 4 years relevant experience.
5. 3+ years of Power BI experience
6. 1+ year Databricks or SQL
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Python, Databricks, and CI/CD pipelines.

- Ability to work in a hybrid office environment (three days in Tempe, AZ office, two days in your home office)
- Ability to work outside of regular business hours for scheduled deployments, as needed.
