Business Intelligence Developer

This role is responsible for designing, developing, deploying and supporting our Enterprise Data Warehouse. This will be achieved by working with cross-functional teams and utilizing the Microsoft BI technology stack.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

• Works in the data warehouse environment which includes data design, database architecture, meta-data and repository creation; gathers and assesses business information needs and prepares system requirements
• Designs, codes, tests, and aggregates results from SQL queries to provide information to users
• Develops, maintains and supports an enterprise data warehouse system and corresponding data marts, automation of processes with the use of SSIS and SSRS and complex reports with the use of SSRS
• Troubleshoots and tunes existing data warehouse applications; creates new or enhanced components of the data warehouse
• With the use of data mining and analysis tools, reviews and validates data loaded into the data warehouse for accuracy
• Prototypes solutions, prepares test scripts, and conducts tests for data replication, extraction, loading, cleansing, and data modeling for data warehouses
• Maintains knowledge of software tools, languages, scripts, and shells that support the data warehouse environment in different operating system environments
• Gathers and assesses business information needs and prepares system requirements
• Participates in the design, development, and analysis of data architecture and warehousing
• Provides technical consulting to users of the various data warehouses and advises users on conflicts and inappropriate data usage
• Interacts with user community to produce reporting requirements
• Offers guidance to junior-level technical staff
• Additional duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent college coursework and related experience required
• 3 to 5 years’ experience in a Business Intelligence environment, creating complicated reports and presenting data in a clear and concise format
• Proficiency in SQL Server 2014/2017, T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, PowerBI, Excel and SharePoint; knowledge of SSAS, DAX; desire to learn new technologies and skills; working knowledge of dimensional modeling, ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical skills with solid foundation in statistical procedures; experience in data mining and modeling
• Ability to work independently to manage projects, coordinate, organize and track tasks effectively and meet project deadlines with minimal direction in a dynamic environment
