Baxter & Woodman (B&W) has a rewarding opportunity for a data management professional. As is the case with most growing companies, B&W runs a variety of production-critical systems that produce and contain valuable data. Efforts have grown in recent years to mine data across the silos and bring it together so that valuable insights can be gleaned to support decision making for the business. These data analytics efforts present increasing technical challenges. Scalability, security, and dataflow design need to be thoughtfully planned and managed. New expansions of data analytics efforts need to be coordinated and implemented in a way that fits with existing efforts. The role is primarily technical but will require substantial interfacing with B&W business analysts and decision makers. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with both the meaning behind the data as well as technical expertise on how to manage it.

POSITION DUTIES:

• Design, develop and administer Business Intelligence (BI) solutions using Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, SQL Server Reporting Services, and other integrated platforms.
• Help shape best practices in visualization to deliver an excellent end-user experience.
• Assist end users in their use of BI solutions. Perform troubleshooting as needed.
• Develop, implement, and improve procedures for effective data management.
• Manage adoption, administration, and governance of BI solutions.
• Coordinate and communicate data management efforts with B&W IT colleagues.
• Deltek VantagePoint familiarity highly desired, but not required.
• Monitor BI systems performance and make recommendations for improvements.
• Assist with recognizing and upholding network security to protect delicate information.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have 5 Years of overall IT experience.
• Strong SQL development skills required.
• Must have Microsoft SQL Server basic database administration such as backups, restores, SQL queries, indexing, performance tuning, table design, stored procedures, user defined functions creation.
• History of creation and management of SSRS reports.
• Must have Microsoft Power Suite configuration and administration experience, including understanding of role-based access control management.
• Must have Microsoft Power BI reports design, development, deployment experience.
• Basic Microsoft Windows Server experience - User Management, supporting scheduled patching, shutdown/restart/startup servers, etc. is a plus.
• Azure experience a plus.
• .NET - C# experience desirable.
• MS Access experience desirable.
• Strong analytical, design, data modeling and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to show initiative and work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and apply appropriately to business situations.
• Ability to listen effectively and seek clarification when needed.
• Desire to dive into the complexity of our business and navigate both relationships and process.
• Work experience in a consultant capacity a plus.
• Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodmans service area (own transportation).
• Good people skills and a willingness to interact frequently with end-users is a must. A significant portion of this position is helping end users with problems.
