Job description

Harbor is seeking a full-time Business Intelligence Consultant to join our rapidly growing team. Harbor's Technology Enabled Solutions (TES) provides strategic and operational services to clients in the legal industry; primarily Amlaw200 firms and legal departments. TES services firms and companies in managing and/or reducing expenses, optimizing business processes and increasing operational efficiencies.
The TES team is a highly talented and cross functional group of professionals who provide unique and unparalleled solutions to our clients through data analytics, Business Intelligence applications, software solutions, combined with leading industry knowledge and area expertise. To ensure exceptional service and successful client engagements, project and client teams comprise of various levels of expertise, knowledge and talent to ensure exceptional service. This is a full-time position that can work from anywhere in the US or Canada.
Responsibilities:
As a part of Harbor's TES team, the BI Consultant will work specifically within the department's BI Solutions team and service area. Overall, this role is responsible for high quality BI analytics services to our legal clients. The following are specific responsibilities of the BI Consultant role:

  • Leverage database and data visualization tools such as Qlik, PowerBI, APIs, SQL and other equivalent platforms;
  • Design, script/code, and implement client-facing SaaS applications in collaboration with business and tech teams;
  • Provide an ongoing point of contact for clients, inclusive of onboarding, training, technical support, engagement letter creation, report creation and distribution, and support for the project management lead and team members;
  • Manage multiple large data sources and streamline data enrichment procedures and analytics to display the information via interactive dashboards;
  • Collect, parse, and analyze data received from clients' systems and coordinate data enrichment and quality control with internal teams and off-shore resources;
  • Manage security permissions for both external and internal clients including the monitoring of licenses and assigning rights;
  • Implement product updates, features and enhancements to new/existing modules;
  • Support the creation of new CounselCommand modules and other practice development initiatives

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in MIS, Business, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field from an accredited college required;
  • 2+ years of relevant workplace experience;
  • Have permanent US work authorization;
  • Knowledge of BI tools (Microsoft/SQL, QlikView, Tableau, Spotfire, Cognos, Oracle, Business Objects) and technically fluent in general programming languages/logic. Certifications are a plus;
  • Knowledge and/or experience with SQL, data warehousing, and relational database infrastructure;
  • Familiarity with ETL process and Microsoft SSIS and/or SSRS;
  • Ability to analyze and organize large datasets;
  • Proven analytical skills, quantitative skills and experience providing resolutions, as an individual and group contributor, for complex problems;
  • Demonstrated experience in creating detailed data requirements from high-level business requirements;
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office;
  • Excellent communication skills, to effectively deliver and explain findings to client both verbally and through written summaries and analysis;
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work well independently and to collaborate with client's and CounselCommand team to effectively prioritize and execute tasks;
  • Reliable internet connection for virtual working
