Job Description
Salary: $47,000-$52,000
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage caseload of immigration matters in various stages.
- Assist attorney and/or case manager in preparation of immigration petitions and applications, including preparation of immigration forms and supporting evidence for submission to relevant administrative agency.
- Draft correspondence to clients and communicate relevant case information and case requests to clients, including agency notices.
- Review and organize client documentation and analyze and summarize case data for attorney.
- Assist attorney and/or case manager with determining potential case issues and planning case strategy.
- Maintain organized legally compliant client files, update notes in database, monitor deadlines and communicate progress of individuals’ cases.
- Conduct research regarding filing regulations and relevant procedures with USCIS and the U.S. Department of State.
- Contribute to the development of practice processes to ensure team operates efficiently and effectively.
- Work effectively and collaboratively with team members to prioritize and organize workload.
- Maintain firm protocol with respect to file maintenance, record-keeping and use of case management system.
- Perform administrative tasks and other projects as assigned by case manager or attorney.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills.
- Willingness to take on added responsibilities and learn new things
- Ability to show initiative and work as part of a team.
- Attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to adapt quickly to firm-specific software.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree.
