***Position is 80% travel and can be located out of our Bismarck office or be a 100% Remote Position. Remote concentration areas are KS, TX, LA, AZ, OK, or NM ***


General Summary:

The Business Development Specialist role offers broad exposure to all aspects of our operation. The Business Development Specialist researches the market area for potential clients; inform & educate existing and potential clients of available ReadiTech Engineering products & services; assist in selling all ReadiTech Engineering services; represent ReadiTech Engineering at community & public relations events; and develop and conduct educational opportunities for ReadiTech Engineering clients.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Establish or maintain relationships with representatives of community, consumer, employee, or public and private strategic sectors.
  • Coordinate and participate in trade shows, fairs and exhibits.
  • Assists with test marketing of new products and services as appropriate.
  • Educate external clients on new technology and services offered by the company through classes and other educational events.
  • Works with current clients to maintain and build level of commitment/contracts.
  • Responsible for coordinating exhibits and conducting external learning sessions and webinars as applicable.
  • Responsible for attending departmental meetings, presenting updates as warranted and conducting follow-up as needed.
  • Responsible for researching industry trends to keep current with engineering practices and trends.
  • Responsible for studying the objectives, promotional policies, or needs of ReadiTech Engineering to develop public relations strategies that will influence public opinion or promote ideas, products, or services.
  • Coordinates special events to promote ReadiTech Engineering.
  • Responsible for generating report materials as requested or needed.
  • Responsible for other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of company policies, procedures, products and services.
  • Knowledge of communications, Internet, video, and wireless industries helpful.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
  • Skill in time management.
  • Skill in active listening.
  • Skill to proficiently operate a personal computer and related software as well as various design programs.
  • Ability to create and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to negotiate on behalf of the engineering team.
  • Ability to communicate with clients, co-workers and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments.
  • Ability to make sound decisions using information at hand.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, PR or related field. Experience growing engineering services and managing revenue streams. Prior telecommunications experience helpful.
