We spark ideas that lead to positive impact and continued success. The Business Development Director will report to the Area Vice President, Core Laboratory Solutions for Siemens Healthineers. The Business Development Director will drive the account strategy and lead a team of Business Development Executives (3-5 direct reports) to win new instrument deals, across competitive and incumbent accounts.

This is a field-based leadership position with the overall responsibility for driving commitment and accountability of a Core Laboratory sales team to achieve or exceed sales goals. The product categories include Chemistry, Immunochemistry, Automation and Information Technology. Candidates should reside near their assigned customer base.

Responsibilities Lead a Business Development pod to develop relationships with key decision makers focusing on Core Laboratory opportunities of large accounts (e.g., IDN and academic hospital laboratories) Help coach the Business Development Executives on account strategy and own the commercial outcome of new instrument opportunities (grow Reagent and Consumable Revenue and win Committed Contracts) Conduct regular reviews with Area Vice President and drive organization-wide commercial strategy within your respective pod Leverage Healthcare Consulting Services (HCS) and Informatics Sales Specialists for support during the sale cycle Work jointly and collaboratively with a number of internal Siemens Healthineers teams to ensure a positive customer solution/experience. These teams consist of: Service, Technical Applications, Business Operations, Finance, Marketing, HR and other teams Develop and manage a strong collaborative environment within own team as well as other partners with accountability towards solution-based approach and balancing the needs of our customers with the financial goals of the company Manage and resolve business problems, especially in dynamic environments Act with good judgment and decision making, aligned with Siemens Healthineers commercial strategy Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience Track record of success leading teams in winning lab diagnostic customer accounts Experience developing account-level commercial strategy & organizing team to implement it Demonstrated management of commercial Customer Relationship Management Excellence Strong business acumen and knowledge of commercial best practices to include standard competencies (financial, market positioning, healthcare industry, and customer) Solution selling experience is a must 5+ years' experience in a complex sales environment (Capital equipment, Medical, Devices, etc.) Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences is preferred; BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
