We are looking for a: Business Compliance Officer 2
who will act as a lead worker engaged in the compliance and monitoring of vendors in the MBE/EDGE/VBE/WBE, Affirmative Action Plan Verification, and Certificate of Compliance certification programs throughout the state of Ohio.
What You'll Do:
- Reviews & approves/disapproves contractors' affirmative action program, Certification of Compliance Applications/Affirmative Action Verification Plan Applications & reviews monthly utilization reports; reports results of compliance reviews & makes recommendations to EEO Program Manager; recommends approval/disapproval of affirmation action certifications (e.g., certificate of compliance & Affirmative Action Program Verification); assists with 119 hearings.
- Under direction of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Program Manager, acts as lead worker over officers engaged in monitoring certification of vendors in MBE/EDGE/VBE/WBE programs throughout the state of Ohio; Assigns officer audits & provides work direction & training (e.g., how to conduct audit, electronic & manual submission of audit & paperwork) in office; Maintains sensitive materials; performs related administrative & recordkeeping tasks (e.g., drafts letters, reports, & memos; submits weekly compliance reports (as required by manager); reviews, analyzes, & makes recommendations for approval/disapproval for assigned officers audit activities. Analyze & conducts MBE/EDGE/VBE/WBE application reviews; makes recommendations to EEO Program Manager for approval/disapproval of certification status.
- Performs related administrative & record keeping tasks: researches & gathers project & contract information & inputs data into database system; submits weekly compliance reports; maintains various electronic databases; answers division telephones; composes reports, correspondence, official documents; analyzes programming statistical data; logs telephone calls & documentation as directed by management; other duties as assigned.
- Presents technical information, provides assistance, & acts as departmental liaison to industry peers/organizations, state agencies, colleges/universities & contractors: provides statewide guidance for MBE/EDGE/VBE/WBE & affirmative action/EEO compliance; makes action recommendation on non-compliant contractors; assists in monitoring procurement activities to ensure MBE/EDGE participation; acts as referral agent for MBE/EDGE/VBE/WBE businesses; assists in developing & monitoring proposals &/or plans related to enhancing EEO programs; monitors legislative changes for departmental impact.
- Requires travel.

18 months training or 18 months experience in interviewing; 18 months training or 18 months experience in application of EEO and affirmative action laws, regulations and procedures to include MBE set-aside, EDGE and/or VBE; 12 months training or 12 months experience in public relations or in responding to telephone, in-person and written inquires and contacts to achieve desired action (e.g., resolution of complaints; providing technical assistance/information; compliance); 12 months training or 12 months experience in accounting or other fiscal related area.
