Business Analyst Level 3

Duties and Responsibilities

• Requirement Gathering and Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, document, and analyze business requirements for the applicable and approximately, 35 forms and their applicable business processes. Translate these requirements into clear and concise specifications for the development team.
• Process Mapping: Diagram and model current and desired business processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement for the applicable and approximately, 35 forms and their applicable business processes.
• Data Analysis: Examine data relevant to the project to identify patterns, trends, and insights that can inform decision-making as applicable for this project.
• Stakeholder Management: Maintain open lines of communication with stakeholders, including customers, users, and development teams. Ensure that all parties are informed and aligned throughout the project lifecycle.
• Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation, including business requirements, functional specifications, use cases, and process flows, to guide development and testing.
• Feasibility Studies: Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of proposed projects, considering technical, financial, and operational factors.
• Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and issues that could impact the project's success. Propose mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
• Solution Design: Collaborate with technical teams to design solutions that align with business requirements and objectives.
• Testing and Quality Assurance: Assist in the creation of test plans and scenarios. Review and validate test results to ensure the solution meets the specified requirements.
• Change Management: Facilitate the adoption of new processes, technologies, or systems within the organization. Help manage the change process and address user concerns.
• Continuous Improvement: Monitor the implemented solutions to gather feedback and identify areas for further improvement. Recommend enhancements and adjustments as needed.
• Project Management Support: Collaborate with project managers to help define project scope, objectives, and deliverables. Contribute to project planning and scheduling.
• Training and Support: Provide training and support to end-users, ensuring they understand how to effectively use new systems or processes.
• Communication: Serve as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams, ensuring that both sides understand each other's needs and constraints.
• Business Process Improvement: Participate in initiatives aimed at streamlining operations, optimizing processes, and enhancing overall efficiency.
• Crafting essential documentation, encompassing but not restricted to Design Documents, Project Charters, Architectural Diagrams, Technical Specifications, Project Plans, and Test Plans.
• Garnering an in-depth understanding of and conducting analysis on the IT applications specific to BTRA and other relevant departments within WMATA as their applicability unfolds.
• Collaborating harmoniously with the IT manager or Deputy Chief of Documentum to ensure the attainment of project deliverables and pivotal milestones.
• Methodically documenting processes to contribute to the refinement of the issues the project(s) or the system aims to address.
• Meticulously delineating the intricate details of the technical solutions through comprehensive analysis in coordination with stakeholders and project teams.
• Orchestrating a seamless alignment with the IT team and stakeholders to ensure the smooth progression of project deliveries and change orders

Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.

Experience

Must have 8 years related experience including:

• Crafting essential documentation, encompassing but not restricted to Design Documents, Project Charters, Architectural Diagrams, Technical Specifications, Project Plans, and Test Plans.
• Garnering an in-depth understanding of and conducting analysis on the IT applications specific to BTRA and other relevant departments within WMATA as their applicability unfolds.
• Collaborating harmoniously with the IT manager or Deputy Chief of Documentum to ensure the attainment of project deliverables and pivotal milestones.
• Methodically documenting processes to contribute to the refinement of the issues the project(s) or the system aims to address.
• Meticulously delineating the intricate details of the technical solutions through comprehensive analysis in coordination with stakeholders and project teams.
