Job Description
Overview:
In coordination with the Product Owner, the Business Analyst at Silverchair will elicit, gather, and define requirements in order to deliver valuable software applications that meet stakeholder needs. The Business Analyst is team-oriented, collaborative, and focused on delivering value. He/She will report to the Program Director for the team.
Essential Functions:
- Gather and analyze functional requirements and create a shared understanding with internal and external stakeholders
- Collaborate with Product Owner, team, and other stakeholders to decompose large epic stories into features and user stories that can be understood and approved by members of the development team
- Clearly articulate feature requirements through an agile development process
- Effectively write user stories and acceptance criteria to express requirements to the development team
- Work with the agile team throughout the product development, testing, and implementation phases to ensure requirements are clearly understood
- Support internal teams with specific questions, training and guidance during product deployment and ongoing training
- Collaborate with the team to meet project and/or product development objectives and deadlines
- Understand project scope and escalate to Product Owner when changes are identified
- Author and maintain project and/or product documentation as needed
- Develop and maintain expertise in assigned projects and/or feature areas
- Provide support to the Product Owner with backlog prioritization, feature sequencing and organization, user acceptance testing, and other tasks, as needed
- Perform additional tasks as needed to meet the needs of the team and department, and to support Silverchair's business needs

Desired Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant experience
- 2-4 years' experience in similar role
- Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies
- Experience with XML and SQL
- Experience with JIRA/Confluence or similar Agile toolset a plus
