Job Description
LTV SaaS Fund is a private equity firm headquartered in New York, New York. The firm seeks to invest in small-cap companies operating in the software-as-a-service (SaaS) and recurring marketplace apps sectors. There are currently 4 operating funds, Funds V, VI, VII, and VIII, encompassing 12 different businesses.
As the Business Analyst with a financial focus, your primary responsibility is to leverage your knowledge, skills, and experience to transform raw data into information and actionable insights, enabling us to make informed business decisions. Working with the fund CEO and key stakeholders, you will analyze data and other information to assist in making effective business recommendations. You will collect, clean, and analyze datasets such as company revenue, sales, market intelligence, and consumer engagement indicators to track and project business outcomes and trends. Working with the Finance team, you will also create tools and data models to create a monthly financial reporting package, as well as take ownership of the fund's business intelligence dashboard.
What You'll Do:
You will be working from our office in Austin, TX, on a hybrid schedule with an expectation of working from the office 3 days a week.
You will be responsible for:
- Working with the CEO and leadership team to create regular and consistent reporting packages, focusing on business process improvements to enhance customer and revenue growth.
- Conduct in-depth data analysis to recommend specific business changes, optimizing the performance of businesses within each company within the portfolio.
- Work with key stakeholders to gather data and create compelling business "stories" – the "why" behind the recommendation, based on facts and data.
- Maintain and enhance our Tableau business intelligence dashboard, ensuring it accurately reflects the business performance, KPIs, and financial insights relevant to FP&A activities.
- Help develop and manage financial models for forecasting, budgeting, and long-term financial planning, identifying key financial trends and variances.
- Ability to model and forecast subscription-based revenue, considering factors like customer acquisition, retention, and expansion.
- Take ownership of financial data integrity, ensuring accuracy in all financial reporting and analysis.
- Support the Finance Team in the annual budgeting process, providing data-driven insights and projections to support business planning.
- Stay abreast of market trends and conduct detailed industry research to inform business and financial strategies.
You Should Have:
- Strong mathematical skills to collect, measure, organize, and analyze data
- Knowledge of programming languages like SQL
- Technical proficiency regarding database design, data models, and techniques for data mining.
- Proficiency in statistics and statistical packages like Excel or Google Sheets to be used for data set analyzing
- Proficiency in Tableau (expert-level skills a plus)
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills to interpret financial data.
- Ability to identify trends, patterns, and insights from complex data sets.
- Critical thinking skills to evaluate financial data and provide actionable recommendations.
- Experience in using data analytics to drive business decisions, especially in a SaaS context where product usage data can provide insights into customer behavior and preferences.
- Capability to solve complex problems using financial data and analysis.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of SaaS-specific metrics.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Skilled in query handling, report writing, and presentation creation
