Description
Under direct supervision, performs the task of driving the college bus for the TRIO Talent Search grant program or other events as assigned.
Examples of Duties
A. Drives the college bus as scheduled.
B. Maintains personal time sheets and work logs.
C. Attends meetings as requested.
D. Is responsible for the check-out of the vehicle, pick up, delivery, and return of TRIO students or other passengers (staff or students) in a safe and timely manner.
E. Employs the use of car seats, seat belts, step stools, and other assistive aids when utilizing Kankakee Community College buses.
F. May transport staff or KCC athletic teams to events or athletic games, if available for additional assignments.
Minimum Qualifications
A. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
B. Valid Illinois driver's license required with CDL certification and passenger endorsement required.
C. Experience driving a bus preferred.
D. Knowledge of highways and roads in Kankakee County, Chicago and suburbs and throughout the Midwest desirable or willingness to learn.
E. Ability to work well with diverse populations required.
F. Available as-needed to work days, weekends, and/or evenings.
G. Qualified candidate must be functionally literate in reading, writing, and computation skills as well as computer literate or willing to learn.
Supplemental Information
Work schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 - 3 p.m. and from 5 - 6 p.m. to take students home. Working 3 hours per week.
Hourly Rate of pay: $20.00/hr.
