SUMMARY The Room Attendant must be versatile in maintaining the highest level of cleanliness and managing guest expectations. This positions primary responsibility is to maintain rooms with a standard of clean and refreshed rooms that appeal to all guests while performing the following essential duties and responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, other duties may be assigned)
- Cleans kitchens, ovens, appliances, refrigerators, coffee makers, toasters, etc.
- Does dishes, cleaning out drawers etc.
- Cleans bedrooms and bathrooms, all surfaces and replacing amenities in rooms.
- Follows guidelines set forth in the cleaning guide provided by the housekeeping supervisory team.
- Handles cleaning chemicals in accordance with a strictly-enforced safe handling policies.
- Wears personal protective equipment (provided by the company) to include gloves at all times.
- Wears and maintains clean uniforms and name tags at all times.
- Provides a professional and courteous attitude towards guests, other employees and the general public.
- Adapts to all department needs to include work in the laundry room, as a steward, or work at the base lodge or mid Burke dependent on business needs.
- Uses proper recycling techniques
- Other duties as assigned, which could be directly related, or un-related to original position.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
No prior experience or training necessary.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read & interpret documents such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employee organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Must have the ability to learn Maestro Housekeeping modules, Microsoft Office applications and email.
OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Must have ethical work habits and use proper discretion when working with guests.
- Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Must maintain a professional, positive attitude both for our external clients and internal peers.
- Must be able to arrive to work on time and follow all attendance policies.

RESORT CONDITIONS
This is a Winter Resort Area. It requires that work venues are varied, and in many cases include steep stairways, multi-level buildings and outdoor work areas, subject to very cold, sometimes wet or very sunny work sites. Some facilities are located at the base or bottom area and some are semi-remote and can only be reached by traveling via chair lift(s), skis or snowboards. Walking surfaces are frequently frozen, sloped and slippery. Proper footwear is a must, indoors and out. Work days and hours, as well as the number of hours required will vary, with an emphasis on weekends and holidays.
