SUMMARY of Duties
Solstice Senior Living at Groton CT., is looking for a Building Services/Maintenance Leader! MUST have a passion for working with seniors, other department directors, associates, families, vendors and potential residents! MUST be a team player, have excellent verbal and written communication and organization skills, be computer savvy and have the want and desire to motivate, work hard, and have fun too!
The Building Services Director is responsible for planning, organizing, developing and directing the general operating maintenance, repair, and housekeeping of the community and its physical plant. Oversee and lead the general operations of the maintenance and housekeeping departments to ensure that the property is well maintained in a safe, clean and comfortable manner. Hire, evaluate, coordinate, motivate, monitor performance, schedule and supervise department associates in accordance with company policy.
Able to work weekends, holidays and on-call as required by the needs of the community. This position is scheduled: Sunday thru Thursday. 08:30am to 5:30pm

Work Experience Qualifications
Preferably a minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience in building/property industry, maintenance and custodial/housekeeping handling the upkeep, repair and maintenance of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting and other structural matters. Possess knowledge of building construction types, fire/sprinkler/detection systems, computerized work order programs, etc.
Ability to communicate and explain work duties to department associates. Ability to have effective and positive interactions with residents, families, associates, visitors, co-workers and government agencies.
Knowlege, experience and safe use of common hand and power tools, devices, testers etc. Ability to perform manual tasks daily. Be mobile and able to perform physical requirements of the job. Good physical health verified by a health screening, including a chest x-ray or an intradermal test not more than 6 months prior or seven (7) days after employment
Educational Qualifications
Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
Trade/Technical school, college degree in related field, related certification/s preferred.
