Job Title: COMMERCIAL CLEANER WITH LIGHT MAINTENANCE
Department: Facilities Maintenance
Reports To: Supervisor of Facilities
FLSA Status: Varies based on compensation threshold. Paid bi-weekly.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Job Description:
General Cleaning
Routine Cleaning Schedule
ll. Daily
A. Rest Rooms 5 days a Week
1. Spot clean all doors, partitions and walls.
2. Empty waste paper and sanitary napkin receptacles. Replace plastic bag liners. Sanitize as required.
3. Restock or refill towel and tissue (full rolls only) dispensers.
4. Refill soap dispensers and check for operation. Report malfunctions to the Facility Manager by means of a nightly report.
5. Clean and sanitize all commodes, urinal and lavatories inside and out, top and bottom.
6. Clean and polish mirrors and other bright work.
7. Clean and polish all chrome fixtures including faucets, flush valves, lavatory traps and piping.
8. Clean and sanitize counter tops.
9. Dust and damp mop hard floor surfaces using quality germicidal detergents.
10. Dust toilet partition tops and sanitize partition surfaces.
11. Bag and remove trash to the designated area.
B. Common Areas and Lobby. 5 days a week
1. Vacuum sweep all rugs and carpeting, including walk-off mats.
2. Check stairwells for debris and dust mop if necessary.
3. Dust and damp mop hard floor surfaces.
4. Spot clean stairwell doors.
5. Spot clean walls and glass.
6. Clean and polish all drinking fountains.
7. Spot clean all stains on carpet.
8. Walk exterior ground to pick up trash.
9. Sweep/clean exterior entrances to the parking lot and along sides of building (maximum of 35' from walls).
10. Bag and remove trash to designated area.
11. Clean and sanitize all commodes, urinal and lavatories inside and out, top and bottom.
C. Administration, Breakrooms and Offices - 5 days a week
1. Vacuum sweep all rugs and carpeting as needed and when asked for by staff walk-off mats must be checked daily and cleaned.
2. Check alternate stairwell exits for debris and dust mop if necessary.
3. Dust and damp mop hard floor surfaces.
4. Spot clean stairwell doors.
5. Spot clean walls and glass.
6. Buff all VCT, if needed.
7. Clean and polish all drinking fountains.
8. Spot clean all stains on carpet.
9. Walk exterior ground to pick up trash.
10. Sweep/clean exterior entrances to the parking lot and along sides of building (maximum of 35' from walls).
11. Touch up offices when staff invites you to do so.
12. Clean and sanitize all commodes, urinal and lavatories inside and out, top and bottom.
Weekly or as a specified Deep Clean Project:
A. Rest Rooms
1. Dust entry door louvers and tops of doors.
2. Dust door frames, hinges, and partition fasteners.
3. Clean baseboard grout to eliminate mop water marks.
4. Clean and polish entry door kick plates and hardware.
5. Flood mop hard surface floors using a quality germicidal detergent.
6. Pour ½ gallon mixture of water and germicidal detergent into each floor drain.
7. Wet mop all janitorial closets.
B. Common Areas
1. Dust and damp clean fire equipment boxes, fire extinguisher, fire alarm, and pull stations, exit and emergency lights.
2. Spot clean stairwell walls and kick plates.
3. Dust and clean stair rails and landings.
4. Damp wipe all door frames and hinges.
5. Dust and clean all overhead vents and air diffusers.

1. High dust wall hangings, clocks, decorations, chalkboard tops, file cabinets and bookshelves.
2. Dust and wipe clean air handling converters/diffusers and window sills.
3. Low dusting of desk, chairs, lamps and other furniture.
4. Dust and wipe clean all baseboards.
5. Detail Vacuum limited access areas.
6. Vacuum all rugs and carpeting.
lll. Monthly or as a Deep Clean project:
A. Rest Rooms
1. Thoroughly wash and sanitize all tile and hard surfaces. 2. Dust or vacuum all supply and exhaust registers, light fixtures lens, ledges, window jams, frames, and moldings.
3. Thoroughly clean trash cans outside of building.
B. Common Areas and Breakrooms

Additional Notes:
*Hot water/steam cleaning of all carpeted areas as needed. Full carpet cleaning annually.
* Stripping and Waxing VCT areas as needed- when requested
• Monthly Quality Inspections may be done as needed.
• A complete list of chemicals to be used on site will be approved.
• Deep cleaning projects assigned as needed.
