The Building Inspector is responsible for conducting inspections and ensuring compliance with building, plumbing, and mechanical codes. Manages the City's Time of Sale program. Involves plan review, inspections, and coordination with homeowners, contractors, and other stakeholders to enforce code requirements and technical standards. Provides support to and works closely with the Administrative Assistant Permits and Licensing. Coordinates with City Planner to ensure building permit applications comply with all applicable zoning regulations.
Required Qualifications:
A combination equivalent to high school graduation and post-secondary training in the building trades. Experience involving a wide variety of residential, commercial, and industrial construction. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with contractors, architects, engineers, and residents. Certified Minnesota Building Official, or the ability to obtain within the first six months of employment. Valid Minnesota Driver's License
