Job Summary:
Thesuccessful candidate for this position will possess the interest andability to obtain a 3rd Class Limited Engineer license from the City ofTulsa within 12 months of being hired. The Building Engineer Technician isan entry level position for the purpose of learning to operate andmaintain OSU-Center for Health Sciences Physical Plant equipment. Will maintainequipment by tightening fittings, re-packing bearings, replacing packingglands, gaskets, valves and gauges. Will clean or replace components using handtools and power tools. Will learn to maintain all air handling units byreplacing defective belts, bearings, lubrication of fans and replacementsof filters. Will also learn to maintain all building lighting systems includingreplacement of fixtures, bulbs and ballasts. The position will beresponsible for general electrical and plumbing duties, performing water testsand replacing chemicals as needed into treatment tank to prevent scalebuild-up. The person in this position will learn to record data, such astemperature of equipment, hours of operation, water and air pressure, waterlevels, voltage loads and gas gauge of paraflow (HVAC) units; also, will learnto adjust manual controls or override automatic controls to bring equipmentinto recommended or prescribed operating ranges. Visually inspects equipment atperiodic intervals to detect malfunctions or need for repair. Monitorstatic air pressure in the AHU units.

Hazardous Material; exposure to heat/cold.

PhysicalRequirements:

Ability to lift or carry usually not more than 150lbs, 10 to 20 feet, mostfrequently 50 to 100lbs, 50 feet. Ability to push or pull 50 to 100 lbs, 50feet. Ability to kneel, crawl, crouch, stoop, reach, stand, walk, finger,grasp, feel, talk, hear, see, and perform repetitive motions with or withoutreasonable accommodations.

Education & Experience

Position Qualifications:

Required:
- High School Diploma/GED
- 0-2 years of building operations and maintenance experience 
- Valid Oklahoma Driver's License
Preferred:
- Experience with Absorption Chillers and Johnson Controls Metasyssystems
Skills,Knowledge, and Proficiencies:
-Basic knowledge of heating, ventilation, air conditioning,chillers, electrical and plumbing systems. 
-Ability to record and maintainaccurate records.
-Handle several technical tasks at once and organize dailyworkload.
-Interact effectively with staff, faculty and students.
-Provide high quality service in a university setting
